This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NLT)
Trusting in God is not just wishful thinking. It is practically trusting God in His ability to work in you and through you. God has empowered you through His Holy Spirit. He has equipped us with His Word. He has given us this day. He has opened doors that we could not have dreamed of. Do you think He has brought you this far without a purpose? Think about this.
If the Lord did not want to use you for His glory, would He empower you the way He has done? Would He?
It’s easy to have faith that God is going to use someone else, but the truth is that He also wants to use you beyond what you can ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
Very often, we get the feeling that we are more broken, more forsaken than the people around us. We get the feeling that others are more qualified for the job than us. This causes us to withdraw in our shells. However, if you really look into the word, you will find out that God uses broken, imperfect people all the time! He’s not waiting for you to get your life perfectly together to use you. He wants to use you right here, right now!
We all have untapped gifts and talents inside us, and the way to develop our potential is by stepping out in faith and making the most of every opportunity.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT)
It’s not how much you have, but it’s how you use what you have that matters. Are you making the most of the gifts and talents God has given to you?
