Atmosphere
We are continuing in our series on how to create an atmosphere that is conducive to the miraculous – where the Holy Spirit has free reign.
The glory of God is the spiritual atmosphere of heaven, like air is the physical atmosphere of the earth. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were created by God to live in an atmosphere of the Glory of God. However, since Adam and Eve sinned by choosing to rebel against God’s instructions, the atmosphere that they lived in was affected drastically.
Then to Adam, He (the LORD) said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil, you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. (Genesis 3:17-18)
Adam and Eve were now disconnected from the atmosphere of glory. (Romans 3:23). Thousands of years later, Apostle Paul wrote that it’s as if the entire creation is groaning, yearning to be released from the burden of sin, waiting to be restored. (Romans 8:22) All of God’s creation is toiling under the weight of the disastrous consequences unleashed by Adam and Eve’s sin.
But I thank God that through Lord Jesus Christ, our restorer, we can now once again begin to live in the atmosphere of glory.
1.“Whoever offers praise glorifies [God].” (Psalm 50:23)
One of the ways we can create an atmosphere of glory around us is to have a lifestyle of constant praise and worship unto the LORD. In doing so, we will be what the Bible calls “true worshippers” (John 4:23). This is something beyond that can be accomplished by just singing well. True worshippers are those who have had a revelation of genuine worship. Worship the LORD regularly in your home personally and as a family. Let His praise be constantly in your mouth and heart as you go through the activities of the day.
On the practical side of things, I encourage you to constantly play worship music in your home. This will bring a shift in the atmosphere and thereby invite the spirit of revelation and testimony. As you do this constantly, you will start seeing noticeable changes.
