And without faith living within us, it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith, knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking Him. (Hebrews 11:6 TPT)
We saw what faith is yesterday and today, we want to explore faith as the first school to be admitted into in God if anything you do will please Him. To start with, let’s untie what it means to please someone. According to Cambridge English Dictionary, the phrase “to please” mean “to make someone feel happy or satisfied, or to give someone pleasure.” Wow! What a great and important subject faith is. Faith is so important that God cannot be satisfied with you or take pleasure in you if you do not believe Him.
Truth is, without “confidence”—an unmovable trust in God’s dependability, His word, His counsel, and His promises, how do you expect Him to be happy and satisfied with you? Think about how effective your relationship is when you’re around people who trust you and take your words seriously.
Is it possible for a child to please his father if he/she has lost faith in him? What about a husband and a wife, Can they find joy and satisfaction in their home and relationship without having a level of confidence and trust in each other?
Faith is the glue that brings together the pieces of man’s broken self after the fall. It’s a pathway into all of God! No Christian life is possible without the foundation of faith carefully laid [Ephesians 2:8]. Faith must be operational for a relationship with a God that is Spirit to be viable. Just like every man tends to travel passionately with those who cherish and believe in them, all of God is only available and handy to those who trust Him. Without faith, everything we do will never proceed from the heart! It will only be make-believe or an eye service. And trust me, we have a lot of that among folks in the church today.
So, there’s just one door that brings you into the heart of God and secures a place for you in His kingdom—faith! Why is that? The writer of Hebrews spelt out these reasons by saying, “For he who comes to God must believe that He is” Your first approach in pursuing God and following Him must start from the place of agreement with the fact that the person you are approaching is truly alive. That God exists is a big deal today! We are increasingly stepping into the ocean of unbelief as several people are becoming hostile to God.
A great man of God said it in this way: “This (faith in the existence of God) is the first thing required in worship. Evidently, we cannot come to him (God) in an acceptable manner if we doubt his existence. We do not see him, but we must believe that he is (this is true Faith); we cannot form in our mind a correct image of God, but this should not prevent a conviction that there is such a Being.”

Prayer
Heavenly Father, strengthen my faith that I may truly please You. Help me deepen my trust in Your promises and Your love so that I may walk by faith, not by sight. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
