Money Management
As a pastor, people often come up to me and ask me to pray for their financial breakthrough. One often-heard cliché is “Pastor; I just don’t know where my money goes”.
Whatever the income level, I have heard many say, “If only I had just a little bit more, I would really be satisfied with my finances”. The truth is, it’s nothing to do with how much we make, but it has a lot to do with how we manage what we have.
Financial health is very important as it dramatically impacts the atmosphere in our homes, our marriages and, to a great extent, our spiritual lives also.
Many marriages have split apart over financial issues. Many have given up their callings over economic issues.
So then, our personal, philosophical and emotional problems and strengths are reflected in our use of money. We need to recognize that managing money is a spiritual issue.
Someone said, “you can tell the spiritual maturity of a man or a woman by looking at his chequebook or his credit card statements. Well, how does yours look? That’s a question for your personal reflection.
Did you know that Lord Jesus spoke more about money than He did about any other topic? Some Bible Scholars say, “15 percent of all the recorded words of Jesus are on the subject of money—more than His teachings on heaven and hell combined.
Why did money matter so much to Jesus? Simple! Money is a spiritual issue.
Everything we have in the present and the past came from God. He owns it, and He entrusts it to us to use for His purposes. David understood this secret and prayed saying, (1 Chronicles 29:14 NLT), “Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us”?
Knowing this and believing it is the most crucial step towards financial freedom. (John 8:32) God owns it all, and He gives to us out of His own abundance.
We who are blessed and seeking to be blessed should remember where our resources truly come from and always seek ways to honour God with the money that He has given us. This will keep the flow flowing.

Prayer
1. Father God, anoint my head today with oil of prosperity and let every financial vessel of mine overflow with your prosperity.
2. In the name of Jesus. Father God, connect me to the right people that will advance the cause of my destiny. In the name of Jesus. I confess I will achieve all my God-given goals and my dreams. In the name of Jesus, I command every root of poverty in my life to be destroyed by the fire of God.
