The Lost Secret

Man is constantly examining others. On the other hand, scripture commands us saying: “But let a man examine himself” (1 Corinthians 11:28)

In my walk with the Lord, one day, I asked the Holy Spirit, “How do I go to the next level?” I had this impression in my spirit man. “Get into the habit of personal introspection” As I heard this in my spirit; I began to see this more and more in scripture.

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. (2 Corinthians 13:5)

But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another. (Galatians 6:4)

Lord Jesus brought out this truth of self-inspection very beautifully in Matthew 7:1-5

We often are concerned about the specks in the eyes of the people around us. Instead, we must examine our own eyes, and by doing so, we will find bigger issues in our own eyes. When we deal with our own issues, we will be in a better position to help those around us.

I put Matthew 7:1-5 in a paraphrase style so that I could get the point across to you.

By reflecting on...
What you are doing?
How you are spending your day, your time?
And the thoughts you are thinking.

You set for yourself a benchmark to measure self-improvement. The only way to improve tomorrow is to know what you did wrong today.

Lastly, to make the process of self-examination more effective, one needs to come up with a clear plan so that it does not happen again.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalm 139:23-24)
