Word of God
Yet now be strong, alert, and courageous, O Zerubbabel, says the Lord; be strong, alert, and courageous, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, alert, and courageous, all you people of the land, says the Lord, and work! For I am with you, says the Lord of hosts. (Haggai 2:4 Amplified)
God's temple at Jerusalem had long been lying in ruin. The Jews had earlier begun work to rebuild it, but they faced such tremendous challenges and criticisms that they stopped and abandoned the project for the next 14 years.
Remember this; whenever you set out to do something good, there will always be challenges and criticism. There is a saying in the Hindi language: "Stones are always thrown at fruit-laden trees."
So it's with this background that God sent the prophet Haggai to speak to them and mobilize them for the most important and exciting work they would ever do! The prophetic Word, the Rhema Word (the now Word of God), helped them overcome the challenges and accusations they faced. This same Rhema word will also help you overcome every challenge.
When Lord Jesus was tempted by satan in the wilderness, He countered each temptation by speaking a "Rhema" word. In Matthew 4:4, He said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every [spoken (Rhema)] word.' "Jesus spoke the written Word He needed for the situation. So a Rhema word can be the spoken Word of God.
We need the written Word as our foundation, but we also need the spoken Word (Rhema) for direction. We have the written Word, to stand on. We have Rhema, the spoken Word, so we know what to do and where to go.
But some again became very discouraged as they laid the foundation to start rebuilding. Ezra 3:12 records that, "… many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes."
The new temple was still a long way from completion, but some, instead of praising and celebrating what God was doing, were weeping and allowing discouragement to overtake them!
Discouragement is one of the most powerful destructive tools that the enemy uses against God's people. What you need is to get into the Worship and the Word. As you do this, God will start speaking to you. As God starts speaking, hold fast to that Word (Rhema). This will help you overcome every hurdle of the enemy.

Prayer
In the name of Jesus, I will be strong and courageous! I will not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD my God is with me wherever I go
