Raise an Altar to the Lord
1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 “On the first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
17 And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up. (Exodus 40:1-2, 17)
In the above verses, we see the Lord instructing Moses to set up the tabernacle in the wilderness on the first day of the first month (New Year’s day). This is a perfect example of a divine altar that can alter your destiny.
But do you know that there are evil altars also? An evil altar is any altar that is different from the altar of the living God. It is an altar where the wicked one operates against Christians and innocent souls. As Christians, we should be aware that there are many other altars in this world that are secretly working to destroy the destinies of men.
Some facts about altars
The following information about altars can be found by studying the scriptural references for today.
- Every altar has a priest that is in charge of it.
- Every altar requires continuous sacrifice.
- Altars are a place of communion with spirits.
- Altars are spiritual platforms where covenants are made.
- Altars are also a place of exchange. Transactions happen on altars.
- Every altar has a voice that is speaking on it. Balaam raised seven altars and wanted to speak from the altar against the Israelites, but God stopped him from cursing His people from the altar.
- Curses and blessings can be released from altars.
- Altars are powerful, and they can operate from one generation to another.
No matter how strong the evil altar is, it will be destroyed when it encounters the power of God. You need to grow in power so that you can destroy any evil altar that wants to challenge your advancement.
How do you know the operations of evil altars?
1. Evil altars are meant to draw you away from the living God.
“Because Ephraim has made many altars for sin, they have become for him altars for sinning. (Hosea 8:11)
2. Destinies are delayed from evil altars.
3. Destinies can be destroyed by evil altars.
4. Evil altars pollute destinies. (Jeremiah 19:13)
5. Evil altars can cause sickness, poverty and demonic access to a lineage.
What to do against evil altars
- Release prophetic words over the altars
“Then he cried out against the altar by the word of the LORD, and said, “O altar, altar! Thus says the LORD: The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.” (1 Kings 13:2,5) (NKJV)
Our silence will permit evil altars to operate smoothly. If we don’t decree it on earth, it will not be done for us in heaven. As believers, we are the ones to carry out God's will on earth.
I decree over your life any evil altar that is troubling your destiny shall be destroyed by fire today, in Jesus' name.
- Build a Godly Altar
It is interesting that before Elijah prayed for the rains to fall after the drought, he called the people together "and he repaired the altar of the LORD, which had been torn down." (1 Kings 18:30)
The state of our altar reflects the state of our worship and our relationship with God. There are three types of altars of God; our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19), our homes (Matthew 18:20), and the church (Colossians 1:24).
