I SHALL ENJOY GRACE
"And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." ( John 1:14 NKJV)
Grace and truth abound in Jesus. In John 1, verse 16, it says, "Out of the fullness of His grace, He has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another." (GNT). God gave the law through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ brought grace to us. Before Jesus came, what was available to man was the law. Grace, faith, and truth—all of these came through Jesus Christ.
What is grace?
- Grace is God's unmerited favour—something that you don't deserve.
- It is enjoying blessings that you don't deserve or qualify for.
- It is when God's spirit is at work, doing things beyond your human strength. The grace of God helps us do the impossible. It helps us to overcome limitations and challenges. The grace of God is humanity's answer to a life of struggling and hustling.
What are the effects of grace?
1. Grace Breaks Protocols
In the Scriptures, we can see the work of grace in the lives of Esther, Joseph, David, and Paul. Many other Bible characters also reflect the effect and the work of grace.
Esther was in a strange land as a slave girl, yet by grace, she found favour in the sight of men and also before the king. Grace can cause you to enjoy favour in strange lands and also in positions that you did not qualify for (Esther 2:17).
Joseph is another good example; he was in a strange land as a slave, and overnight, after many years of living in slavery, God turned the story around (Genesis 41:37–44).
He didn't just come out of the prison house; he was made the second in command over the land. This is a product of grace. It puts you ahead, lifts you, and breaks protocols for you. I am sure that there would be protocols in Egypt for attaining such a high position, but because Grace is at work, all of those protocols were knocked out, and Grace lifted Joseph.
David also enjoyed grace and favour. Grace brought him from the backside of life, where he was tending sheep, to the front side, where he became a king (2 Samuel 5:3-4). The same God that did it in the lives of these people will do it for you in Jesus' name.
Paul, who was once a terrorist, became a prominent minister of the Gospel. Apostle Paul talked more about grace than the other apostles because he was a product of grace (1 Corinthians 15:10).
In this year, I want you to pay attention to the operations of grace because it is real. It is working in the lives of those who believe in it.
2. Grace Generates Extraordinary Results For You
Peter toiled all night and caught nothing. But when Lord Jesus showed up (remember that Jesus is full of grace and truth, and grace came through him), Peter was able to catch net-breaking fish (Luke 5:1-9).
No matter how long you have been struggling in your business, I speak into your life by the authority of God that the grace of God will turn your story around.
No matter the storm you are experiencing in your marriage or your life, the grace of God will turn it all around for good in Jesus' name.
3. Grace Empowers You To Do What You Cannot Do By Yourself
Paul says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
When David faced Goliath, he was ready to take up that task because the grace of God was upon him. The spirit of God is the spirit of grace, empowering men to do the impossible. A whole army of Israel could not take up Goliath because the grace was not there (1 Samuel 17). There are some things you can't do, but when the grace of God is released into your life over those situations, you will do it better than those who have been doing it for many years. You need the grace of God.
4. You are saved by grace, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Salvation is also an effect of grace. We did not save ourselves, and we cannot save ourselves. It is a gift from God that we receive through grace.
What Are Some Things You Can Do To Enjoy Grace?
1. Conscious towards the Grace of God
I've shared with you some of the things that the grace of God can do so that you can be conscious of it. Desire it in your own life so that you can enjoy it.
2. God's Love towards Others
Whatever you want God to do for you also do it for others. Be gracious, love others, show mercy, be kind. When they are wrong and deserve judgment and punishment, show the love of God to them so that they can enjoy the grace of God through you. Let the Spirit of God lead you in doing the right thing at the right time.
3. Expect the grace of God to work for you
There is a spiritual law in the Word of God that says your expectations shall not be cut short. (Proverbs 23:18). What you expect is what you see and enjoy. If you are not expecting the grace of God to work for you, it will not work.
4. Grace Flows Through Knowledge (2 Peter 1:2)
Grow in the knowledge of God, and you will grow in grace. Grace flows through knowledge, and without knowledge, grace is limited in its flow.
5. Human Vessels Impart Divine Grace
Some people have the depth of the riches of the knowledge of God's grace, and they have the spirit of grace in a greater measure in their lives. Everyone has grace in one area or another, but there are many other areas where we lack grace. Here are two examples of impartation through human vessels: Elisha received a double portion from Elijah (2 Kings 2:4-18), and Moses released the spirit of wisdom into the life of Joshua (Deuteronomy 34:9).
When you associate with a carrier of grace, their grace will rub off on you. If it is a ministry, serving faithfully in a ministry that is graced in a specific area will cause that grace to flow into your own life as well.
6. Embrace Humility
James 4:6 says that God gives grace to the humble, so when you are humble, you will enjoy more grace.
God's grace is sufficient for you in this New Year. The grace of God will help you, strengthen you, and provide all that you cannot obtain by your strength. Lift your voice and say, "In the name of Jesus this year, I shall enjoy grace."
