Moses recorded their starting places, as the Lord commanded, stage by stage; and these are their journeying stages from their starting places (Numbers 33:2)
A fresh start is always the end of something
They departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with boldness in the sight of all the Egyptians. (Numbers 33:3)
Quite interesting that the children of Israel came out on the feast of the unleavened bread.
Numbers 33:15-37
The listing of Israel’s encampments comes rapidly; more than 30 place-names are given in quick succession. During this time, there was a lot of activity for the people of Israel – but no progress. They weren’t coming any closer to the Promised Land and would not come closer until the generation of unbelief had passed away.
"Don't confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but doesn't make any progress."
If it feels like you're on a rocking horse, going nowhere, you need to redefine what being productive means to you. Even the smartest people make the mistake of assuming that mere activity equals progress. Instead of doing more things to achieve your goals, do things that have more of an impact on making progress.
