06. Guidance of the Holy Spirit - E-Books

Every star needs a coach or a mentor to reach stardom. You do not know what it takes to prepare and win a gold medal in the Olympics, but a coach knows. Jesus said in John 16:13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." He is there to show us what to do and the specific areas to prepare.

Have you ever stayed awake all night in preparation for an examination, and on getting to the exam hall, you realized you didn't read some of the questions? I mean that unfortunate moment when you didn't even read the sessions the lecturer picked the questions from. At that moment, you just wish someone had hinted to you that you are focusing on the wrong part. This is why we need the Holy Spirit.

We have discussed how important it is to prepare for the New Year, but we need the Holy Spirit to guide our preparation so we won't end up preparing for what we won't need. The coming New Year is glorious for you and your family, but that golden destiny can only be attained with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Prophet Zechariah saw a golden vision in chapter 4, and just before he started admiring it, he heard a voice in verse 6, "So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the Lord of hosts." It takes the help of the Holy Spirit to know the right mode of preparation.

We are limited in many ways, but God's Spirit knows all things. 1 Corinthians 2:9-11, "But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God."

He knows the deep things of God for our lives. So when you know the deep things of God for your life, you will be encouraged to pay the price of preparation. I am not calling you to start pushups but to submit to the Spirit of God to prepare you. He wants to be your coach to guide you on the way to go.

Finally, I want you to know that the biggest preparation is for the coming of the Lord. What if Lord Jesus is coming in the New Year; how prepared are you? The Bible says in Exodus 19:10-11, "Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day, the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people." Like the Israelites, you need to consecrate yourself. Take away every dirt and filth in your heart by the blood of Jesus. Ask God to forgive you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness that may hinder you from going home with Him if He comes in the New Year.

Also, the Holy Spirit wants to prepare you for His coming. He knows where you are missing it and what to do so you can be like the wise virgins who went home with the bridegroom.
