Change
For any change to be truly impactful and valuable, it must be lasting and consistent. Temporary changes often lead to frustration and disappointment not only for you but also for those around you. Many people approach change with fear and anxiety because, deep down, they do not believe it will last. There is always that silent thought: “What if I go back to my old ways?”
Today, I want to share with you a powerful principle that can help you bring about lasting change. This principle may sound simple, but when applied, it can transform your life from the inside out. Whether you are an individual seeking personal growth or an organization striving for excellence, this truth remains the same.
Principle 1: Raise Your Standard of Thinking
The foundation of lasting change begins in the mind. If your thinking does not change, your life will not change.
The Word of God gives us a clear blueprint:
This scripture reveals a powerful truth: real transformation is not external it is internal. It begins with what you allow to occupy your mind.
Always remember this: you will move in the direction of your focus.
If your focus is on negativity, fear, and worldly patterns, your life will reflect the same. But when your focus shifts to God and His Word, something supernatural begins to happen you are transformed from within.
Lasting change is not about trying harder; it is about thinking differently.
Guard Yourself Against Cultural Pressure
The scripture warns us not to become “well-adjusted” to the culture around us. Why? Because culture often pulls us away from God’s standards, not toward them.
Many people compromise not because they intend to, but because it feels easier to fit in.
I have seen individuals who never smoked or drank, but after entering an environment where such habits were normal, they slowly adopted those same behaviours. Why? Because the environment influences thinking, and thinking influences action.
If you are not intentional, the world will shape you without your permission.
Don’t Drift Stand Firm
Do not allow the people around you or the culture you are in to reshape your godly values. If you do, you will become like a dead fish floating downstream, carried by every current.
But God has not called you to drift He has called you to lead, to stand, and to shine.
True change requires courage. It requires you to think differently, live differently, and sometimes even stand alone.
Lasting change begins when you make a conscious decision:
“I will not conform I will be transformed.”
Fix your attention on God. Meditate on His Word. Allow Him to renew your mind daily.
