The 7 Spirits of God
The Spirit of might is the fifth of the seven Spirits of God listed in Isaiah 11:2. The word “might” in this passage literally means powerful, strong, and valiant. It is used to describe a proven warrior.
This same word “might” is also used to describe David’s mighty men who accomplished amazing feats of war.
These are the names of the mighty men whom David had…(2 Samuel 23:8)
One thing you must remember that David’s mighty men were still men, and they had to get their power from a Source. That source was the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit of might is at work in you, He'll cause you to be bold.
Prophet Isaiah prophesied concerning the Lord Jesus in Isaiah 9:6 and called Him "The Mighty God." This name of God refers to the attribute of might that overcomes. It talks about a demonstration of strength in such a way that it overpowers the strong.
Possessing the spirit of might will enable us to succeed against all odds. It will take us beyond the point of confessing that “God is able” to the point of knowing that we possess the ability to perform anything.
The Spirit of might gives us the ability to say, “My God is able, and so am I” (Philippians 4:13). Knowing what to do is an operation of the spirit of wisdom; having the ability to actually do it is an operation of the spirit of might.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. (Ephesians 6:10) How do you do that? Become conscious of the presence of the Spirit of might and allow Him to have expression in and through you.
In these times of stress and peril, every child of God needs to be filled with the Spirit of might, so that we can accomplish great things for the Lord. Whether it is doing great exploits in ministry, business, at the workplace or in sports, you need to be filled with the Spirit of might.
Prayer
Blessed Holy Spirit, You are the greater One who lives in me. You are the Spirit of might. You are for me, so who can be against me.
