Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
These words were spoken as Lord Jesus made known to His disciples about His departure from earth. It was almost a farewell speech and a very powerful one. There are some important truths about peace that can be gleaned from this one scripture.
1.Peace is imparted
“Peace I leave with you….”
Some people teach that peace is a state of mind that can be achieved through human effort or mental exercise. The Bible clearly teaches us that peace is something that is imparted to us by the Lord Himself.
All around the world, people are trying desperately to find peace. Peace is not found in doing more but in doing one thing, and that is in surrendering to Him. The Bible speaks of two sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha was troubled and stressed in seemingly doing more, while Mary made it a point to sit at the feet of Jesus in a state of surrender and humility. This is where she found peace.
The Bible says in Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,.....” Peace is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
I encourage you to begin your day by sitting at the feet of Jesus in prayer and the word of God. As you fellowship with the Lord, His divine peace will be imparted to you, and that peace will grow more in maturity as you do it every day.
Where ever you go, you will spread the fragrance of peace. You will be called a peacemaker and not a troublemaker. People in high places will seek you.
Even when there is a storm around you, you will walk in divine peace because now the peace of God is within you. Always remember, the peace of God is a supernatural rest in the midst of surrounding unrest.

Prayer
I thank You, Father, for the Precious Blood of Jesus that has made peace between me and You. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour forever. I receive Your peace in my life. (Now lift your hands, close your eyes and keep saying Jesus slowly and softly)
