Joy
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. (John 15:11)
It is the desire and the will of the Lord that we enjoy each day of this year, experiencing the fullness of His joy. This is because He has already paid the price for this.
The question now is, how can we make the joy of the Lord a daily part of our lives? Here are two straightforward approaches:
#1: Spend Time With the Lord
God is the fountain of all joy. All joy originates from Him. So, if you want to experience joy daily, you must regularly spend time with God, the fountain of joy. Some of you must have already learned by experience that the day you don't spend time with the Lord, it's a day filled with frustration and oppression.
In Psalm 43:4, David says, "Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and on the harp, I will praise You, O God, my God."
We must all follow the example of David and fellowship with God through His word and prayer. No amount of possessions or parties or people can create this kind of joy in our lives. When I spend time with the Lord, I often play some soft, soaking music. You can do that too.
#2: Share Your Burdens With the Lord
Very often, we share our burdens with people. Sometimes, these same people can advertise your burdens with some unpleasant people and then the whole thing becomes another burden. However, I have learned through experience that when we share our burdens with the Lord and lay them at His feet, He carries them on our behalf. After doing this, I have experienced a unique joy that is hard to describe. I am sure many of you have felt the same.
Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. (1 Peter 5:7 AMP)

Prayer
Father, fill me with joy and peace that I may overflow with hope in Jesus' name.
