In the process of ministering deliverance to people, I have had experiences in which a demon has communicated through an afflicted person stating something akin to, "I am not leaving because he granted me the legal right to inhabit his body." It is crucial to address these permissions and dismantle the demon's authority in order to achieve effective and lasting deliverance.
Understanding the "entry points" or areas of disobedience where demons can obtain a stronghold in our lives is a key aspect of this process. If these entry points are not thoroughly resolved, true deliverance cannot take place. In light of this, starting today, I will be teaching a comprehensive series aimed at addressing these issues and empowering believers to not only receive deliverance for themselves but also to effectively minister deliverance to others in need.
As we embark on this series, may you be filled with the wisdom and discernment to identify and close these entry points in your life and the lives of those you minister to.
Every day, I want you to share the daily devotional (Daily Manna) as much as possible. So together, we can work towards breaking the chains of demonic oppression and experiencing the fullness of deliverance that God has promised His children.
1.The Habitual Practice of Sin
Sin is the act of violating or transgressing the laws and commandments set forth by God. It represents a rebellion against His divine will and can lead to both temporal and eternal consequences. Sin is a pervasive aspect of human nature, and every person inevitably falls short of God's perfect standard. (Romans 3:23)
Individuals commit sin in two primary ways: by engaging in actions that are morally wrong and contrary to God's commands and by failing to perform actions that are morally right and in accordance with His will.
8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts].
9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. (1 John 1:8-9 AMPC)
However, it is important to recognise that when we commit a sin continuously or repeatedly, we effectively surrender ourselves to that sin, becoming enslaved by it.
Don't you realise that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. (Romans 6:16 NLT)
The more we yield to a particular sin, the more we conform to its influence. This domination of sin over our lives moulds our character and significantly contributes to our identity.
Living in persistent sin can lead to a dangerous cycle, where we become increasingly susceptible to its control and less capable of breaking free from its grip. The continuous practice of a sin we have not repented to and confessed to God creates an open door through which an evil spirit can enter our life. It then gives demonic powers the legal right to control the area where the disobedience occurred.
This is why it is crucial for believers to be vigilant in recognising and addressing sin in their lives. Through sincere confession and genuine repentance, we can seek forgiveness and restoration from God. His grace is sufficient to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and empower us to overcome the enslaving power of sin.
Please take a moment to reflect on your actions and thoughts: "What specific sin have I consistently committed? To which negative behaviours or emotions do I frequently succumb, such as worry, fear, phobias, anger, gossip, complaining, jealousy, unforgiveness, or other sins?" If you find yourself engaging in habitual or ongoing sin, you have inadvertently opened yourself up to the risk of demonisation. Therefore, it is essential to recognise these patterns and confront them head-on to break free from their hold, thereby protecting yourself from the influence of evil spirits and paving the way for spiritual growth and healing.
Prayer
1. Father, I call to You now with my whole heart and ask You, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, to free me from the terrible grip that this bad habit has on my life! (mention the habit(s))In Jesus’ name.
2. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the World. I know that You are greater than the Enemy and can help me overcome this bad habit(s)! I command every satanic influence over my life, loose your hold in the mighty name of Jesus!
3. Lord Jesus, I thank You for the victory that You have already won on the cross. I claim this victory over the bad habits and sinful patterns that have plagued my life. Help me to walk in the freedom and authority that You have granted me as Your child.
