The Lord has showered His incredible grace upon us time and again. In response to this divine generosity, we are called to demonstrate grace to those around us. Extending grace is about showing kindness, even when it's not deserved. Here’s how we can share the grace we've so freely received.
1.Words of Grace
Our words have the power to lift up or tear down. The Apostle Paul encourages us, "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt" (Colossians 4:6). He recognized the tongue's potential to bring about positive change and urged believers to use their words to reflect the grace of Jesus.
It's my firm belief that our prayers will resonate with greater power and His presence when our everyday language is characterized by words that encourage and bestow grace on others. (Refer to Ephesians 4:29)
2.Forgiveness in Frustration
When someone takes their bad day out on you, it's natural to want to retaliate. However, instead of responding in kind, maintain a calm spirit and let it go. By doing so, you are bestowing upon them the grace you have freely received. It might be challenging, but this act of mercy can elevate you to new spiritual heights.
"A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offence." (Proverbs 19:11)
3.Presence and Support
During challenging times, such as those we're currently experiencing, a simple phone call or message can mean the world to someone. It shows they are remembered and loved. Celebrate with someone on their birthday or anniversary. Inquire about their needs, and if possible, help in whatever small way you can. The Bible instructs us to share in each other's joys and sorrows.
"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." (Romans 12:15)
Such acts are not only pleasing to God but also have the power to transform the world into a kinder place. Often, it's the smallest gestures that hold the greatest significance.
Prayer
Father, I thank Your amazing grace. I did not deserve it, yet you so readily poured it out on me. Lord, empower me to extend this grace to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
