A great man of God once said, "What you respect will come towards you. What you disrespect will go away from you."
The Bible commands us, saying, "Instruct every employee to respect and honour their employers, for this attitude presents to them a clear testimony of God's truth and renown. Tell them to never provide them with a reason to discredit God's name because of their actions.
Especially honour and respect employers who are believers and don't despise them, but serve them all the more, for they are fellow believers. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 TPT)
Now, this does not mean that you become a doormat. Yet, it is no secret that many of us (Christians) show no respect (at least from our hearts) to our superiors.
A simple smile or a greeting like 'good morning' etc. would suffice in this case. Yet, we are driven by bitterness and hurt. This only aggravates the whole plan that God has in store for us at our workplaces (Jeremiah 29:11). No matter who or what the character or nature of your boss is, sincere respect will create an atmosphere of trust between you and your boss.
Now understand this, in many cases, as you show respect, you may not immediately get back the same respect shown. It may take some time, so hold on to God's Word. The LORD will honour you. Remember, God gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6)

Confession
I thank You Lord, that exaltation neither comes from the east nor the west or the south, but it comes from You Oh Lord. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
