Power of the Seed
As we continue in our series studying ‘The Power of the Seed”, today, we look at the different types of seed:
3. Potentials and Abilities
Within every man and woman, God has deposited potentials and special abilities that are also termed as “seed”. Some of you are very good communicators, some of you write so well and so forth.
God placed this potential in everyone for the benefit of the world. It is time to take inventory of what God has placed on the inside of you. Don’t say, “I am nothing; I don’t have anything”. It sounds nice and humble, but the truth is that God has put potential and abilities on the inside of you. You and I need to pray every day, “Lord, open my eyes to discover and understand the seed (the gifting and the abilities) that you have placed inside of me. In Jesus’ name.”
The big problem is we are always looking at other people’s seeds and wishing and hoping that their seed would be ours. God knows what to give each one. When we get jealous or insecure of the seed that God has given others, our seed remains unutilized or underutilized.
The man who was given one talent was probably insecure about the fact that the other had received more talents than him. But the fact was that if only he had used and multiplied the talent that God had given him, his master would have called him, “Good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:14-30)
In the name of Jesus, I prophecy, “You may be in some village, in some obscure place, but because of the seed that God has deposited inside of you, you will come before great men and women.” When people looked at Jesus and the fact that He came from Nazareth (an obscure place), they said, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” (John 1:46) How wrong they were?
“A man’s gift (potential and abilities) makes room for him,
And brings him before great men.” (Proverbs 18:16)
That place, that level may be crowded up there, but because of your abilities, because of the potential that God has placed on the inside of you, there will be room created for you. People won’t make room for you, it is the gift that will make room for you.
There are 7.5 billion people on the earth presently, but everyone is special, unique, and original. Our potentials and abilities are God’s gift to the world.
Our potential and abilities are seeds of greatness that God has deposited inside everyone for the fulfilment of their destiny here on earth.
Always remember that your own dreams are a special seed you are sowing into the hearts of others. When you share your dream seed with others, sometimes, they are excited and thrilled. They will be people whom God has sent to support your vision. Some might not even bother to listen and might reject you. Very often, these will be people who are closest to you.
If you experience such rejection, you must not withdraw into a shell. Don’t bury your dream. A wise farmer knows his field requires much preparation before he plants his seed. Likewise, the minds and hearts of those around you may require preparation as well. Be patient.
Joseph shared his dreams with his brothers, and they hated him for it. (Genesis 37:8) Some people won’t like the fact you are moving ahead of them, and the very thought of you excelling may not be what they want to hear. If you can find someone you trust completely, then go ahead and tell them but do not share your dream with everyone that comes across your way.
4. Financial and Material Seeds
Our finances and material possessions are also “seeds” that God has entrusted to us. We can give out of our abundance, out of obedience, and out of sacrifice. Regardless of how much we give to the work of the Kingdom - whether it is Rs.10/- or Rs.10,000/- Lord Jesus makes it clear to us in Luke 21:1-4 that He was very pleased with the widow who gave her two mites sacrificially - that was all she had.
The seed is not just limited to fruits and trees. The fruits and trees give us a better understanding of how seeds operate.
Until we begin to see money as a seed to be sown for multiplication, supernatural supply will always remain a mystery to many. The man of God Kenneth E. Hagin said that there is no area of faith that Christians find more difficult than believing in God for finance. He also said that when a Christian learns to sow financial seeds in the kingdom or to help a needy person, believing God for financial breakthroughs then suddenly become much easier.
When the widow gave her financial seed, scripture says that the eyes of the Lord (by whom all things were created in heaven and on earth - Colossians 1:16) fell on her. Her seed attracted the very attention of the Lord of heaven and earth. That is the power of the seed.

Confession
Father, I thank You for the abilities and potential You have placed in me. My money is a seed. I shall see great financial breakthroughs as I sow it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
