We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other (1 Thessalonians 1:3)
Are you aware that your faith can grow? Do you know you can live a life of exceedingly growing faith where you become less concerned about the troubles of life and so focused on God? Where your pleasure is not derived from materialism but from the Holy Spirit.
The Bible tells us of a certain kind of people who will experience unfailing strength and limitless possibilities in Isaiah 40.31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” This verse reveals that there is the possibility of living a Christian life where you are never weary, faint, or sap of strength to press on! Mind-blowing, isn’t it.
Just like every growth is a sign of living, an increase in trust and belief in God is a sign of a lively hope in God. To grow exceedingly in faith, your root must go deep into the unfailing God. You see, obedience to the word of God is a great booster of faith! Without living by the word of God, death is bound to occur to your faith-life. Here is another thing; prayer must become your daily lifestyle. Prayer is one of the best ways to subscribe to God’s abilities in building up your faith. (Jude 20)
A man of faith is a man whose survival is rooted in God. This quality is found in our father Abraham, Isaac, Elijah, David, Lord Jesus, and so many more bible characters. The seed of faith received at salvation is supposed to be watered by the word and prayer to yield produce.
One way to measure faith is love. “...and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other” How is your love life? How much do you love God? How much do you love your neighbour? To grow in faith is to grow in love. To have faith, you must first have love; this is stated in Galatians 5:22.
To grow in faith is to grow in spiritual knowledge, truth, and realities. How much of the word do you know? How much of it has transformed your life? What have you let go of the word? Every man and woman of faith in the Bible all went through the process of transformation. They were like gold being refined to bring out its best part.
A life of exceedingly growing faith is a life of surrender and sacrifice. Nothing becomes too big to give to God, and no word from God becomes too small to perform. As Christians, we are to grow exceedingly in faith, just like the Thessalonians. Our faith should be a source of motivation and reason for people to praise God. Choose to deliberately grow in faith as from today.
