Testimony
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony….(Revelation 12:11)
When you tell people around you about what the LORD has done for you, you are simply sharing your testimony with them.
Some Christians have dramatic testimonies of being delivered from a sinful and terrible lifestyle. Others may not have testimonies that are quite as dramatic—but nevertheless, they are just as significant in the eyes of God.
In Scripture, Apostle Paul uses his testimony to share Jesus with the religious leaders of his time. His story is told at least three times in the book of Acts as a tool for evangelization.
After the Samaritan woman had an encounter with Lord Jesus, she left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” Then they went out of the city and came to Him. (John 4:28-30)
It is because of her testimony that many were drawn toward Lord Jesus Christ. This tells us how important our testimony is.
There are many who have received blessings, breakthroughs, and amazing answers to their prayers but have still not testified. Such fail to bring glory to the One who blessed them in the first place. As Christians, we should never be afraid or ashamed to talk about what God has done in our life.
As Lord Jesus was about to get into the boat to depart, the man who had been set free from demons asked Jesus, “Could I go with you?” Here is what Jesus answered:
And said to him, Go home to your own [family and relatives and friends] and bring back word to them of how much the Lord has done for you, and [how He has] had sympathy for you and mercy on you. And he departed and began to publicly proclaim in Decapolis [the region of the ten cities] how much Jesus had done for him, and all the people were astonished and marvelled. (Mark 5:19-20 Amplified)
When the man obeyed the LORD, he became a blessing to ten cities – just imagine that. As you glorify the LORD through your testimonies, He will surely let you have more testimonies.
