Chapter 19

You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy. (Leviticus 19:2)

We must walk in Holiness because the Lord is Holy. If we are to associate with the Lord we must pursue a lifestyle of holiness.

“When you harvest your land, don’t harvest right up to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings from the harvest. Don’t strip your vineyard bare or go back and pick up the fallen grapes. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am God, your God. (Leviticus 19:9-10)

The Lord is very much concerned about the poor

Don’t spread gossip and rumors. (Leviticus 19:15)

Gossip doesn’t only destroy the credibility of the gossiper, but it destroys relationships.

Gossip does more to destroy a church, a family or organization than just about anything else.

You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor. (Leviticus 19:15)

Justice was to be served without partiality.
