Chapter 9

Book / 40 / 600 chapter - 9
1199
And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.” (Mark 9:1)

Could Lord Jesus be referring to the Mount of Transfiguration experience?

And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Mark 9:7)

One would think that a voice from Heaven would say, "Listen to me!" But the Father said, "Hear Him!" Everything points us to Jesus.

Notice, the voice also did not say, “listen to Moses or Elijah” The voice said, “Hear Him”.

Hebrews 1:1-2 sums it all.
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.

Hear and be Healed and Delivered
And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Mark 9:7)

“Make the heart of this people dull,
And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes;
Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And return and be healed.” (Isaiah 6:10)

One of the primary reasons the people were not healed was because their ears were heavy and because of this they could not hear. This stopped them from turning to the Lord and receiving healing.

However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.
They came to hear Him and this produced in them the faith that was required to be healed.

And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, 18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed.

Not only does hearing bring healing but it also produces deliverance.

Faith comes by hearing….(Romans 10:17)

And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.
If you can get people to hear the Word, you can still get them healed.

How to cast out evil spirits
“Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” (Mark 9:25)

So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29)

Fasting and prayer empowers a believer to cast out stubborn spirits of darkness.

John said to Him, Teacher, we saw a man who does not follow along with us driving out demons in Your name, and we forbade him to do it, because he is not one of our band [of Your disciples]. (Mark 9:38)

This man already had a revelation of the name of Jesus. All you need is a revelation of the name of Jesus.
