if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you (Ephesians 3:2)
In the Revised Standard Version (RSV), the word "dispensation" is translated as "the stewardship of God's grace."
What you have today is not only for you but to share with others. The grace that is given to you is so that you can share it with others. The forgiveness that you have received is so that you can share it with others. God's grace and gifts are always given to us for others.
of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power. (Ephesians 3:7)
Many times secular news agencies refer to men and women of God as ‘self-proclaimed’. So then, the question arises is who appoints men and women of God? It is God who calls men and women of God into His service and endows them with gifts and power.
and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:9)
Paul's purpose was "to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery." He sought to accomplish this through his preaching and teaching ministry.
For more than 2,000 years, Apostle Paul's writings have touched millions; more than he did while he was alive and doing ministry.
from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named (Ephesians 3:15)
This is the only time in Scripture where the term "family" is used to describe the saints.
Some people consider their church or denomination as the only true family of God. To achieve this cause, they fight other Christians. It is rather foolish and downright immature to limit God’s family to a particular brand of Christianity. Many of God's family members have preceded us by hundreds and even thousands of years. Most of them probably knew nothing of our denominational brand of Christianity, yet they are definitely part of God's family.
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:19)
The Greek word that was translated as "know" means to experience the love of God that passes mere head knowledge.
