Secrets of Esther: Series
"19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Esther 8:3-4 says, "Now Esther spoke again to the king, fell down at his feet, and implored him with tears to counteract the evil of Haman the Agagite, and the scheme which he had devised against the Jews. And the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king,"
Even though Haman was defeated, the king's decree still stood against the Jews. The king had killed the enemy, yet his works were still in motion. The time appointed to destroy the people was still ticking, and the people positioned to carry out the execution still obeyed the last order, which said, "kill them all."
You can imagine how dangerous it would be if nothing was done on time. However, the Bible says in Esther 8:10, "And he wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus, sealed it with the king's signet ring, and sent letters by couriers on horseback, riding on royal horses bred from swift steeds."
The king had to send a counter-notice on fast horses else the execution would still go through in some places, and the fasting and prayers would have been in vain. So Esther interceded for the salvation of her people. Intercession is the need of the hour in every church so that souls are saved. Unfortunately, this is one of the most neglected ministries.
Even though Christ has won the victory for us on the cross, intercession is needed to enforce that victory. However, next to intercession is the need to go out and tell people about the good news. The preaching of the gospel must be followed by intercession. The good news had to travel faster than the bad news; hence royal horses were used - they were faster than ordinary horses. There was a sense of urgency as time was of the essence.
The people are used to bad news till now, but it's time to preach the good news. Jesus' last words were a commissioning statement telling us what to do. Now that He has the power over the devil, having defeated him, he also has the key to life and death. We need to tell people so they won't continue to suffer. We need to tell them that they don't need to continue wallowing in sin because there is a provision for their liberty. John 8:36 says, "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
Jesus has set them free; they have to accept this news. He has paid the price for their sickness and diseases. He took it out of the way and nailed it to the cross. He paid it in full, so they no longer need to die of sickness. He paid the price so they could walk in sound health. He came to give us peace from the troubles of life. This is the good news we need to spread as fast as possible.
We need to strap ourselves to the fastest horse and spread the news. The enemy is killing people and deceiving them, so we need to stand as rescue agents. As we intercede to get them free from the hold of sin and death, we also need to reach out to them. Let's use every media possible to spread the news. The devil is defeated; we are free.

Prayer
Father, I thank you for your sacrifice on the cross. I thank you for your finished work that has set me free from the hold of sickness. I pray that you empower me by your Spirit to spread the good news everywhere I go. I pray that your good hand would rest upon me and you will make a change agent indeed. Nothing shall hinder me from spreading the gospel. I receive grace to obey the great commission. In Jesus' name. Amen.
