And Balak [the king of Moab] son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. (Numbers 22:2)

The enemy is constantly watching you - your successes. There is a category of wicked spirits called ‘monitoring spirits’.

If you notice that every time you tell a particular person about your progress concerning a thing and that very thing falls apart. The reason for this is that they may have a familiar spirit attached to them.

Delilah is an example of a monitoring spirit. She reported everything that Samson did to the Philistines.

Pay close attention to the people that are in your life. Are they asking too many questions about your future plans and the progress that you are making? Be careful not to reveal too much – build in silence. Understand this, everyone doesn't want you to succeed.

Prophet Elisha revealed the plans of the enemy forces to the King to Ahab. In the same manner the enemy imitates the handiwork of God.

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, “Behold, men have come here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country.” (Joshua 2:2)

Each time a servant of God enters a particular territory, demonic powers are alerted.

As we were on our way to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who was possessed by a spirit of divination [claiming to foretell future events and to discover hidden knowledge], and she brought her owners much gain by her fortune telling.

She kept following Paul and [the rest of] us, shouting loudly, These men are the servants of the Most High God! They announce to you the way of salvation!

And she did this for many days. Then Paul, being sorely annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit within her, I charge you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her! And it came out that very moment. (Acts 16:16-18 Amplified)

The enemy has been studying you since you were born and these familiar spirits and monitoring spirits are there to check the status of your life and make sure that you never fulfill the purpose and plan that God has for your life. None of these spirits can actually read your mind, since God is the only one who is omniscient, so they can only gain information by watching you or hearing it from you or others around you.

Objects can also have monitoring spirits attached to them.

Prayer Points

I hide all my plans under the blood of Jesus.

And Moab said to the elders of Midian, Now will this multitude lick up all that is round about us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field. So Balak son of Zippor, the king of the Moabites at that time, (Numbers 22:4)

Council of evil elders against me scatter by fire in the name of Jesus.

Council of evil elders against me die in Jesus name.

Sent messengers to Balaam [a foreteller of events] son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the [Euphrates] River, even to the land of the children of his people, to say to him, There is a people come out from Egypt; behold, they cover the face of the earth and they have settled down and dwell opposite me. (Numbers 22:5)

Prayer Points:

Communication lines of the enemy break in Jesus name.

Evil Messengers on assignment against my life fall down and die in Jesus name.

Now come, I beg of you, curse this people for me, for they are too powerful for me. Perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed. (Numbers 22:6)

A curse weakens a people.

Evil incantations against my life and destiny be cut off by the blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus.

Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His sword drawn in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell on his face. (Numbers 22:31)

Balaam’s eyes were not always open.

And the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way and His sword drawn in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. And Balaam struck the donkey to turn her into the way. (Numbers 22:23)

Animals have and ability to see in the spirit realm. It does not say that the LORD opened the eyes of the donkey. It says it just saw the Angel. Animals are sensitive to the spirit realm. There have been some experiments done with dogs and cats being sensitive to the spiritual realm.

And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, What have I done to you that you should strike me these three times? And Balaam said to the donkey, Because you have ridiculed and provoked me! I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you! (Numbers 22:28-29)

Balaam was so blinded by the lure of gold that he did not realize that it is his donkey speaking to him. He did not find it unusual. He kept on talking. An ass talking to an ass.

A bribe blinds a person. (Proverbs 17:23) I believe this blinding happens in the spirit realm.

On the other hand, a cock crowing made Peter to repent.

And the ass saw Me and turned from Me these three times. If she had not turned from Me, surely I would have slain you and saved her alive. (Numbers 22:33)

The LORD loves animals.
