Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. (Galatians 6:1)

Principles of Restoring others

1. you must be godly yourself before restoring the fallen (you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit]..Amplified)

2. gently...Win him over with gentle words, which will open his heart to you

3. without any sense of superiority…..will keep you from exalting yourself over him.

4. being careful not to fall into the same temptation

Illustration:

If a fat man has fallen into a ditch, then a skinny man cannot pull him out of that ditch. If he tries to do that, he himself may land into the ditch with the fat man. The reason is that he does not have enough strength.
