But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,

My glory and the One who lifts up my head. (Psalm 3:3)

At times, when I am in deep thought feel weighed down or tired, thank God, I am quickly reminded of His word which says, “He is the One who lifts up my head”

When we look down our eyes are fixed on a limited area. The enemy of our soul will try and do everything possible to keep our gaze limited. But, when God lifts our heads up, we will see the whole horizon before us.

Another reason that it is not wise to walk with your head down is the fact that you may walk into someone or something! Think about this spiritually.

Also, when I am talking to my children (Aaron and Abigail), I often tell them, “Son, daughter, look at me and speak” This is part of developing confidence in a relationship and so it is with the Lord.

I lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1,2).
