Why Did God Destroy the Tower of Babel?
Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:1-4)
After the Flood, God commanded humanity to "increase in number and fill the earth" (Genesis 9:1). The people decided to do the exact opposite of what God said.
The story of the tower of Babel takes place about 130 years after the flood. The tower of Babel was actually the pinnacle of occult knowledge. Occult simply means secret knowledge. The tower represents the attempt to reassemble and maintain the "secret" knowledge which we now can understand as the physics and technology used before the flood.
God confused the languages at the Tower of Babel to enforce His command for humanity to spread throughout the entire world. As a result, individuals grouped with other people who spoke the same language and then travelled together to other regions of the world to establish permanent settlements there.
When the people were scattered all over the world, they built monuments that have pointed out a consistent pattern of a "sacred geometry" incorporated into the measurements and construction. A pattern with an inner desire to connect to the heavens.
Example: Stonehenge, Pyramid of Giza

These builders of Babel are bricklayers, which we call Masons today. Is it just a coincidence that we have a secret society called by that same name? FreeMasons. This is an organization that boasts of an ancient origin.
Was There a Time When All Humans on Earth Spoke One Language?
And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them. (Genesis 11:6)
All languages came from one language (Genesis 11:6). The earth had one language and we are going back to the same pattern. The origin of different languages had a supernatural origin to it.
Come, let Us go down and there confound (mix up, confuse) their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. (Genesis 11:7)
The mention of “Us” at the Tower of Babel gives a clue to the triune nature of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).
From a Christian understanding, the Holy Spirit would have been surely present at this event to confound the languages, as He was the sole source of the many languages imparted to the believers on the Day of Pentecost when they began to “speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).
At Pentecost, God did the reverse of what he did at the tower of Babel.
At Pentecost, God poured out his Spirit. At Babel, the people did not have the Spirit of God.
At Pentecost. people were able to understand each other again and co-operate to build God's city/dwelling place/temple (ie the church).
Also, if we are going to build God's dwelling place today, then we need to understand and cooperate with one another. To do this, we need to have a common foundation - the Word of God.
