Chapter 29

Book / 4 / 257 chapter - 29
1905
Therefore keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do. (Deuteronomy 29:9)

When we do the word, prosperity is the result. Prosperity is the result of putting the word into practice. Now Biblical prosperity is not just money but ‘all-round prosperity’ - spiritual, physical, financial etc. Poverty is the fruit of not putting the word into action.

If keeping the words of the Old Covenant would bring prosperity then keeping the Words of the “better covenant” (Hebrews 8:6) would result in much greater prosperity.

Someone's experience cannot negate the word of God.
Just because someone did not get healed in spite of prayer does not mean that God does not heal. Just because someone did not prosper even though he gave does not mean giving is not for today

‘The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.’  (Deuteronomy 29:23)

Admah and Zeboiim are two cities in the vicinity of Sodom and Gomorrah that suffered the same fate as Sodom and Gomorrah.

“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions. (Deuteronomy 29:29)

All of life is basically divided into two parts. There are things that God has kept secret, things you don’t know; things you don’t understand. Then there are things that God has revealed, things He has entrusted to you.

As a Christian, expect to face questions to which you do not have the answers. Don’t be afraid to say. “I don’t know.”.

There will be times when life doesn't make sense. At such times you must say, I don’t understand, but God knows. The secret things belong to the Lord, and the Lord who knows them is my Heavenly Father.” Faith lives with unanswered questions.

The LORD holds you accountable for what you know. He does not hold you accountable for what you don’t know.
