Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 “On the first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up. (Exodus 40:1,17)
An interesting fact is that the tabernacle was set up on the New Year
“Take the anointing oil and anoint the Tabernacle and all its furnishings to consecrate them and make them holy. (Exodus 40:9)
Anointing the house is in the Word
9 Times in this chapter a phrase is repeated ‘just as the Lord commanded him’
It is when you do as the Lord has commanded you that the glory of God will fill your life as it filled the tabernacle.
The Glory of God
The glory of God isn’t just goosebumps or a feeling. It is not an event that is scheduled for special occasions. The word glory is literally translated “heavyweight,”
Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. Moses could no longer enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled down over it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. (Exodus 40:34-35)
Notice Moses did not even pray for the glory of the Lord to fill the Tabernacle. When things are done according to the pattern shown on the mountain, when things are done according to the will of God, the Glory of God will literally stick or follow such a project, a venture, a ministry, a person.
Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would [d]go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. (Exodus 40:36-38)
The Old Testament Church was led by the Spirit of God so how much more the New Testament Church.
Romans 8:14 says, “As many as are led by the Spirit of God they are sons of God.”
