“The thing that has been—it is what will be again, and that which has been done is that which will be done again, and there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
Life is full of mysteries, and as children of God, we can address any mystery challenging our legal right to fruitfulness in marriage. It’s a mystery when there is no medical explanation for couples with long years of delay in childbearing. Medically the two of them are okay, yet no pregnancy. It’s also a mystery that young couples married are in good health, are faithful Christians and yet struggling to give birth. These are spiritual abnormalities that must be addressed violently by the force of faith.
Some time back, I heard about a prophet in Ghana, that experienced ten years delay in childbearing. Now, this is someone that is a genuine man of God. He moves in the miraculous with amazing testimonies following the preaching of the word. He is an anointed man of God and also has anointed friends in the ministry, yet he experienced day in childbearing for ten years. What could then be wrong?
The amazing testimony is this. In the ninth year, after the cross-over service into the New Year, which would mark the tenth year. When he and his wife got back home, they knelt down and prayed fervently. During prayer, he laid his hands on his wife’s womb, and after the heartfelt prayer, that same month, she conceived, and to the glory of God, she gave birth to twins. For her years of waiting, God gave her double. In the name of Jesus, I decree and declare over your life, God will remember you in this month and in this season. The reproach and shame of barrenness shall be rolled away from your life in Jesus name.
The testimony of victory over barrenness did not end in bible times; it’s still happening. God is still working miracles for those who care to believe and hold on till their set time of divine visitation appears.
I will share some insights from the bible about women who delayed childbearing and how God changed their story. Revelation is what you need in addressing any stubborn situation. Also, the same God that did it for them is alive today. He is doing it for many others, and He is ready to do it for you too. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) He is the unchanging God. (Malachi 3:6)
Sarah
And Abram and Nahor took wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and Iscah. But Sarai was barren; she had no child. (Genesis 11:29-30 Amplified)
Barrenness added a “but” to the description of Sarah. A reproach was in her life that was contrary to divine order. I decree and declare, any reproach of barrenness in your life shall be forcefully terminated by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus name.
The devil is an evil schemer. He knew very well that Abraham had a great destiny and the potential to become a generational blessing. He quickly programmed a barren woman into his life. Also, Sarah had a great destiny, and her womb was quickly blocked by the wicked forces controlling the earth after the fall of Adam. Bad things can happen to good people, but if they can earnestly pray, much can be reversed or quickly blocked before it happens.
How did Abraham and Sarah overcome this situation?
I need you to key into their approach because a testimony awaits you.
Sarah’s maid conceived and gave birth to her husband, which proved to her that the infertility was not from Abraham’s end. Sarah had to wait for 25 years in pain and shame. May God terminate every shame and pain that you are going through in Jesus name.
You can imagine the pain, the shame, the sleepless nights, the tears and frustration that she went through all those years. Let’s take a look at the series of events that changed her barrenness to fruitfulness?
1. The Promised Blessing.
God had to pronounce a blessing on Abraham.
“…And in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your posterity. So Abram built an altar there to the Lord, Who had appeared to him. (Genesis 12:7 Amplified)
The Lord said to Abram………Lift up now your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your posterity forever. And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if a man could count the dust of the earth, then could your descendants also be counted. (Genesis 13:14-16 Amplified)
After these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I am your Shield, your abundant compensation, and your reward shall be exceedingly great.
And Abram said, Lord God, what can You give me, since I am going on [from this world] childless and he who shall be the owner and heir of my house is this [steward] Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram continued, Look, You have given me no child; and [a servant] born in my house is my heir. (Genesis 15:1-3 Amplified)
God promised Abraham many times during the 25years of waiting that He would bless Him with a son, but He had to wait for it. God was speaking to him directly, yet he had to learn to wait. Sometimes, you may be tempted to question God’s existence or ability; please don’t give in to such thoughts; they are from the wicked one. He wants to pull you out of God’s plan. God is not the author of barrenness.
One of the virtues you have to learn is to wait on the Lord and hold on to His faithfulness, ability, and integrity. Never for once doubt the ability and wisdom of God. There is an appointed time, and my prayer to God is that this month and this season will be your set time for divine visitation in Jesus name. You will not miss your testimony of fruitfulness in Jesus name.
2. The Covenanted Blessing
An upward shift was initiated by God that moved the blessing from a promise to a covenant. Entering into a covenant with God is one of the vital forces of breaking the curse of barrenness. Later on, we will study the life of Hannah, how she used a covenant force to terminate her long years of barrenness.
As for Me, behold, My covenant (solemn pledge) is with you, and you shall be the father of many nations. And I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting, solemn pledge, to be a God to you and to your posterity after you. (Genesis 17:4, 6-7 Amplified)
God jealously guards His blessings through covenants.
Rebekah
“And Isaac prayed much to the Lord for his wife because she was unable to bear children; and the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah, his wife, became pregnant.” (Genesis 25:21 Amplified)
Abraham’s wife was barren, Isaac also married a barren woman. From this, it’s clear that there was a demonic pattern at work. Even though Abraham was the father of faith, and Isaac was the child of the covenant, yet the devil was attempting to block and stop their fruitfulness. You are also a child of promise, and whatever you are going through is just an attempt by the devil to hinder your glorious destiny. No matter what you had done in the past before you gave your life to Christ, or whatever the devil may be using as an excuse to your bareness, they are all deceptions of darkness. You are the redeemed of the Lord, and I want to assure you that you will survive it; you shall be fruitful in Jesus name.
Rachel
“…but Rachel was barren.” (Genesis 29:31)
Jacob, the third generation from Abraham, also married a barren woman. Even though Leah was fruitful, the spirit of bareness succeeded in the life of Rachel. Some bible scholars said Rachel was barren for fourteen years before she became fruitful. Bareness is a serious issue that has broken many homes. I decree over your life, today, that curse shall be broken over your life and family in Jesus name.
Samson's Mother
And the Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years. And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the tribe of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had no children. (Judges 13:1-2 Amplified)
Every great destiny faces great opposition. The angel acknowledged the barren state of Manoah’s wife, she was barren indeed, but God turned around her situation. The devil was able to pick divine signals that God was about to release to the Earth a mighty man; he then quickly attacked the womb of Manoah’s wife in order to stop the divine agenda. What you are going through can be traced to the devil. He is trying to attack the plans and purpose of God for your life and family. The child that you are about to give birth to carries a divine mandate that is destructive to the kingdom of darkness, and the best the devil can do is to block your womb or attack the fertility of your husband. But I decree today over your life that the attack is over in Jesus name.
May the Lord work on your body and that of your spouse and repair and restore whatever that has been tampered with in Jesus name.
