Faith is a spiritual force that gives you a voice in the spirit realm. Without faith, you have no voice; you are just a sound brass or a tinkling cymbal. Nothing responds to what you say in the spirit realm without the force of faith.
I have seen many people confessing positive things, and when you even check social media, you will discover that many businesses are also engaging their clients in positive affirmations. Positive affirmations are good, but if it is not backed up by the force of faith, it will not produce any tangible result.
Let us look at some characteristics of faith and how you can use it to secure your fruitfulness in marriage.
FAITH IS A WEAPON – AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON
“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women received their dead raised to life again…” (Hebrews 11:33-35)
You cannot stop the enemy without the weapon of faith. From the scriptures above, faith was used for warfare, claiming of territories, and if you look at verse 35, it says, “women received their dead raised to life again…” Even when the enemy killed their children, by force of faith brought them back to life.
Whatever is medically wrong with you can be corrected through the force of faith. You have a great cloud of witness that proves that God’s power is real; without believing, you can never experience the power of God. The Thomas-kind of faith says, “seeing is believing,” they want to conceive or hear a nice report from their doctor before they believe. God does not work with Thomas-kind of faith; He works with those that “believe.” Believing is seeing the unseen.
No matter the medical term used by the doctor, no matter if they are the best specialist in town, no matter how many hospitals that you have gone to and they have the same report, it’s time to switch from the report of men to God’s report. What is God’s report concerning you?
God’s report says, “Be fruitful,” “none shall be barren,” “I will take away sickness and disease from your midst.” Are you going to believe God’s report, or do you want to hold on to the medical report in your hands?
Your faith can change the medical report; it can reverse the demonic decree, curse, or whatever that is affecting your fruitfulness. God specializes in impossibilities and difficulties. He can do all things, but He cannot do it without your faith. He needs your faith to be alive and active before He can work wonders.
How do you use your faith in attacking and destroying the force of barrenness?
“…I have put my words in thy mouth.” Jeremiah 1:9, I’m sure you know that the word of God is in your mouth, but what are you going to do with it? How do you use your faith in the word to get results? What God told Jeremiah to do with the word is what He expects every one of His children to do also, use the word to “…root out, …pull down, …destroy, …throw down, …build, …plant.” (Jeremiah 1:9,10)
There are six things you must use the word to do in order to break the force of barrenness, which are:
- root out
- pull down
- destroy
- throwdown
- build
- plant
It is your responsibility, stop asking God to destroy what He has empowered you to do. Stop asking God to pull down and destroy what He gave you authority to do; that’s irresponsibility.
Your destiny is in your hands; it’s time to take charge; what you don’t resist has the right to remain. Don’t just believe the word; speak the word and use it in these six areas.
We often use four out of six, e.g. root out, pull down, destroy, throw down, but we fail to use the word to build and plant. You can plant a new womb through the word of faith. You can repair what was damaged in your body through the word of faith. All things are possible to him that believes (see Mark 9:23).
I once heard a story of a woman that experienced a delay in childbearing, she went to meet her pastor, and her pastor started talking to her about faith. After a while, the pastor asked her to close her eyes and imagine that she was before the throne of God; after some time, the pastor asked her to imagine children surrounding the throne of God. Next, the pastor asked her to stretch out her hand to pick one of those children by faith. She did, and suddenly she started smiling, and the pastor asked her why she smiled, and she said the baby I carried looked like my husband; that was it. That same month she conceived, and after nine months, she gave birth to a baby boy that looked like her husband, Hallelujah!
I have also heard of testimonies of women that started buying baby clothes, and they were specific about the sex of the baby, and God had to honour their faith and prove Himself faithful on their behalf.
“For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward him, so that he can show his great power in helping them.” (2 Chronicles 16:9 TLB)
It may be instantly, and it may take a while but hold on to your faith and refuse to back off. God is faithful to reward your faith. Don’t be discouraged; I once read of an account of a lady that had to daily confess the word and hold on to her faith for close to six months before she saw the result that she desired.
FAITH IS A WEAPON – A DEFENSIVE WEAPON
“…taking the shield of faith…” (Ephesians 6:12)
The moment you choose to believe God, the wind, the storm, attacks, fears, and doubts will be launched against you. The faith you have in the word and in God is what will deliver you. When those attacks are launched against you, immediately once you start quoting scriptures, the attack will subside.
The moment you confess that “I am fruitful;” The devil will launch an attack against your mind with thoughts and doubts that “are you sure?” “don’t say it out loud so that others will not hear” “what if what you are confessing does not come to pass?” These and many more are the arrows he’ll launch against your mind.
You can’t overcome the devil by reasoning; what you need for victory is to think of the covenant word that guarantees the manifestation of your declaration and recite it in your mind by saying, “it is written…” “I choose to believe God.”
The journey to your fruitfulness is a battle, so don’t think that the devil will just back off without a fight. We all know that in combat, you must have a good defence as well as offence, if your defence is bad, no matter how good your attack is, one shot from the enemy can completely defeat you.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; it will build up a strong defence system in your mind needed for the victory you desire.
FAITH IS A SPIRITUAL LIFE-GIVING FORCE
The word of faith must be backed up with the spirit of faith for you to experience the miraculous. Many empty talkers out there, their spirit man is light, no weight at all. They have no connection with the spirit of faith, and yet they want to get results.
You need to feed on the word of God till the spirit of the word envelopes you.
The word you are holding on to is a spirit, and the more you meditate on it, the more the spirit of the word is transmitted to your spirit.
“The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.” (John 6:63 MSG)
You can’t get results by your muscle; you need the spirit of faith. The words of Christ are life-giving words; the more you study and meditate on it, the more of the spirit you gain access to. It is the spirit that will change your situation, not by your power or the drugs you are using (Read Zechariah 4:6).
