By the word of Your lips,
I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer. (Psalm 17:4)
The Path of the Destroyer Versus the Path of the Christian
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Let us look at Ephesians 2:10 in the Amplified Version again, “For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”
We see two paths here namely:
- the path of the destroyer
- and the path of the believer.
According to the plan of God, the path of the destroyer and the path of the believer are not supposed to cross. Anytime the path of the destroyer crosses the path of a human being, we see theft, death or destruction since he came to steal, to kill and to destroy. As long as you ensure that your path and that of the destroyer doesn’t cross, these three activities of the destroyer will not be fulfilled in your life.
The Amplified Bible helps us further Psalm 91: 11 as it explains “For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]” The devil cannot assault you when you are on your predestined paths and these you will walk in as long as you obey the written word of God and you serve His purpose on the earth.
